You will need to possess a reasonable level of fitness, have the ability to work on your own under pressure as well as hold a current, full, clean driving licence.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVES

Opportunities for Warehouse Operatives

Members of our warehouse team often work under pressure, particularly at peak times. If you work well as part of a team and are flexible in your approach to different roles, then this may be a great opportunity for you to kick-start your career in food service.

A varied role that will see you move between the ambient (room temperature) storage areas, cold-store chiller and freezer department. Personal protective equipment and clothing will be provided together with all health and safety training.

Your ability to accurately manage your workload and the management of stock using established and systematic procedures to meet the needs of the delivery teams, are very important requirements for this position. The delivery teams and ultimately our customers, rely on us despatching orders promptly.

VAN LOADERS

• Preparation of orders prior to loading
• Loading vehicles overnight ready for early morning despatch
• Manual handling of ambient, chilled and frozen goods
• Manual handling / filling of roll cages and tote boxes
• Four nights per week on a rotating shift basis, 10pm Sunday to 6am Saturday
• 30 hours per week
• Working shift: 10pm to 6am (includes 30 minute break)
• Full-time, permanent

Salary: £10.00 per hour

First Choice Foodservice is a rapidly-expanding supplier of fresh produce, ambient, chilled and frozen goods to the professional catering sector. Our product range is vast and is being continuously updated as tastes and trends in dining out evolve. You can be part of that expansion in this critical role.

We are looking for helpful, friendly and enthusiastic staff who can respond well to the pressures of working to strict schedules. You need to be willing to undertake a range of tasks and be ready to jump right in to a fast-paced role.

As part of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for manual handling, moving stock (roll cages and tote boxes) and loading vehicles according to the nightly loading schedules. Our delivery team rely on accuracy and careful handling of products to ensure they arrive with the customer in the same condition as they leave the depot.

There is always scope for progression within the company for applicants who show the necessary drive and commitment.

VAN & LORRY WASHERS

Opportunities for Van and Lorry Washers

First Choice Foodservice operates its own fleet of over 20 vehicles. These range in size from 3.5 tonnes to Class 2 (a category C vehicle, or what is frequently referred to as a rigid).

Given the mileage and area our vehicles serve, it is important that they meet our aspirations for making the best impression on customers when deliveries are made. They are liveried vehicles and as such act as continuous mobile advertising units for the company and service we offer.

Not only do we expect the vehicles to be driven well and courteously, but the visual impression they make is very important to the way in which First Choice as a brand, is perceived. If we take good care of our vehicles it would be reasonable for a customer to assume that we are taking good care of the goods being delivered. It really is that simple.
